Leigham Primary School is at the heart of the local community. We offer a warm and welcoming learning environment with wonderful facilities. As a school, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of every pupil, their families and our community as a whole. Our rich and aspirational curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities provide a diverse range of learning experiences for all of our pupils, regardless of need or barrier, and prepares them well for the next stages of their education and life.

The environment created at the school is safe and welcoming with the values embedded into the culture. You can see the pride the staff have to work there and are always very approachable. This has allowed my daughter to thrive.

At Leigham Primary School, we believe that our P.E provision will enable all children to attain optimum physical and emotional development and good health. We deliver high-quality teaching and learning opportunities that inspire all children to succeed in physical education and in developing life skills. Children are taught how to cooperate and collaborate with others, to improve their wellbeing and fitness, and underpin the values and disciplines P.E promotes.

Our pioneering Ocean Conservation Curriculum (OCC) is an immersive learning programme that develops understanding and engages children with sustainability issues.They discover how the ocean has shaped our planet, why it’s essential to all life on Earth, and how it needs to be protected for the future.

MFL

French at Leigham Primary School is taught through the Language Angels scheme. We offer a broad, relevant and ambitious curriculum which helps to deepen pupil's understanding of the world around them. Our aim is to inspire and excite our pupils through a variety of themes and topics. This is achieved through the aims of speaking, listening, reading and writing with grammar built into this.

At Leigham, our English curriculum enables children to gain oracy, reading and writing skills. From Nursery, our children develop their phonics knowledge through Essential Letters and Sounds. This strong foundation supports children to become confident, fluent and expressive readers, enabling them to develop secure comprehension skills. Our children explore a range of writing genres and are inspired by a variety of high-quality texts. Across the school, children are taught to plan, draft, revise and edit their writing to create a final published piece.

Science at Leigham Primary School fosters children's curiosity about the world around them, embraces their sense of wonder about natural phenomena and guides them into becoming enquiry-based learners. At Leigham, we follow the Jigsaw scheme. This scheme offers a comprehensive programme for Primary PSHE including statutory Relationships and Health Education, in a spiral, progressive and fully planned scheme of work, giving children relevant learning experiences to help them navigate their world and to develop positive relationships with themselves and others.

Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Our high quality music education engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.

We follow the White Rose scheme of learning and aim to deliver a high-quality maths curriculum that is both challenging and enjoyable.
